OnePlus has finally announced the launch date of the most awaited OnePlus 13, putting all the rumours to rest. The OnePlus 13 is confirmed to be released on October 31 in China. Announcing the release, the company has also revealed the design and the colour options. The new flagship entry has a design similar to its predecessor, OnePlus 12, but with a little tweak. The company has also confirmed that the device will be available in three different colours: White Dawn, Obsidian Black and Blue Moment.
The OnePlus 13 showcases a sleek design with a micro-quad-curved display on the front and a prominent circular camera module on the back. Unlike previous models, the camera module no longer blends into the device’s frame. It features three lenses and an LED flash arranged symmetrically in a square pattern, all enclosed within a circular island framed by a metallic ring that adds elegance and emphasises the camera area.
A horizontal line runs from the camera module to the edge, bearing the Hasselblad “H” logo, reflecting the brand collaboration. Below the camera, the minimalist OnePlus logo maintains the phone’s clean design. The metallic sides enhance the device’s premium feel and durability.
The OnePlus 13 is available in three-colours. White Dawn introduces Silk Glass technology for a smooth, refined appearance. The Blue Moment variant debuts the industry’s first smooth texture, offering a soft, skin-like touch. Meanwhile, the Obsidian Black model features a unique Ebony Wood Grain Glass finish, evoking the look and feel of natural wood. Together, these thoughtful design elements highlight OnePlus’s focus on aesthetics and innovation, offering users a premium and tactile experience.
The OnePlus 13 is set to deliver significant upgrades over its predecessor, the OnePlus 12. A key highlight is the processor, as the device will be among the first to feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. This new chip, expected to debut at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit on October 22, which was previously known as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. With its advanced Oryon cores, it promises improved performance and energy efficiency, ensuring a smoother experience for multitasking, gaming, and other demanding tasks. OnePlus might even outpace competitors like Xiaomi and Oppo in launching a phone with this chipset.
Battery life and fast charging remain areas where OnePlus excels, and the OnePlus 13 is likely to continue this trend. It’s rumoured to feature a 6,000mAh battery, a significant jump from the 5,400mAh battery in the previous model, offering extended usage for users on the move.
On the display front, the OnePlus 13 is likely to retain the 2K resolution screen that has become a staple of OnePlus’ flagship devices. However, a notable new feature could be the inclusion of an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, which promises faster and more secure unlocking compared to the optical sensors typically found in smartphones.
Additionally, the phone is expected to support 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, enabling fast and convenient power-ups. Whether charging with a cable or wirelessly, users can expect minimal downtime, ensuring the device is always ready for use.
The OnePlus 13 is expected to feature a 50-megapixel primary camera equipped with Sony’s LYT-808 sensor and an f/1.6 aperture. It will also include a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, offering enhanced versatility for photography enthusiasts.
